The Human Aquarium is an Eco-Arts project looking at the world through the lens of a sea mammal.

What does it feel like to live in a tank?  And what effects are micro-plastics having on marine life? Even more, what is the human cost?

Whether it’s buying water or a ticket to a marine park, do we know the consequences of our choices?

Do we really know what we are buying into?

The substitution of perforMERs for dolphins and orcas  aims to humanise the lens we see the ocean world through.  As a result, it will connect us to the oceans even though we are physically distant in land locked cities.

The first stage of the project was the Human Aquarium Exhibition that took place in 2019 in Leeds. Here  we  asked the questions – what does all this mean to you and what do you want to do about it?

We are also planning more events in  2020 and beyond. So do get in touch with Yorkshire Life Aquatic if you would like to get involved.

Yorkshire Life Aquatic C.I.C. ‘s Deep Water exhibition is proud to be partnered with Climate Action Leeds and Salford University. We are an arts organisation specialising in immersive interactive exhibitions to explore climate. We also specialise in accessible synchronised swimming style dance performances and perform in and out of water, in parks and pools, on beaches and even in fountains. We use art as a tool to explore the environmental , and promote positive body image and health / wellbeing.
